Download Beckham Gossip : QPR or Spurs?

Firstly, here's Neil Warnock on the possibility of bagging D-Beck.

"About three weeks ago I would not have dreamed to sign Joey Barton so I will never write anything off," Warnock told the Daily Telegraph.

"The chairman Tony Fernandes has got such [an opinion] - why accept the average when you can reach for the top? That is how he is.

"It came out of the blue. I think anything is possible. He is a very astute businessman."

Indeed, The Daily Mail claims contact has already been made between QPR and Beckham's people.

HOWEVER, The Daily Mirror reports that Tottenham are rather keen on the old boy too, with his LA Galaxy contract set to expire in November.

The paper claims: 'Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is also a big fan and can offer Beckham Europa League football next year if the north Londoners make it through the group stages. The ex-England captain is desperate to play in the Great Britain team at the 2012 Olympics and a Premier League move would give him a better level of football ahead of the Games...

'Having replaced the height of Peter Crouch with Emmanuel Adebayor, Redknapp wants someone of Beckham's calibre to provide the striker with ammunition to maximise his aerial ability.'

ARSENAL IN FOR MONTOLIVIO
The transfer window hasn't been shut for long, but there are already more stories about Arsenal trying for another midfielder.

This time it's in The Daily Mirror, who report that the Gooners are 'keeping tabs' on Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo.

The paper claims: 'Arsenal boss Wenger has instructed scouts to watch 26-year-old Montolivo this season and they were represented at Italy's win over Slovenia.

'Italy international Montolivo, who plays the midfield holding role, was linked with Arsenal this summer and is out of contract at the end of the season. Fiorentina are hoping he will sign a new deal.

'Arsenal will face competition from AC Milan if they decide to pursue any interest in Montolivo.'

MALBRANQUE BACK TO THE PREM?
Good lord this a weird story.

After the rumours that Steed Malbranque retired from football to care for his ill son were declared as nonsense, it was confirmed his contract at St Etienne had been terminated, with no real explanation as to why.

And now, The Daily Mirror claims he wants to come back to England.

The paper reports: 'The former Fulham and Spurs midfielder went back to France from Sunderland in the summer. But after playing a matter of only 26 minutes for his new club in the first game of the season, the 31-year-old declared that he was retiring for personal reasons.

'St Etienne have now rejected his offer to return after signing Max Gradel from Leeds United and cancelling his contract.'

RANGER TO BRUM
As you can imagine only a week after the end of the transfer window, gossip is a little thin on the ground.

So the only other thing we can really offer you is word in The Sun that Birmingham will try to take Nile Ranger from Newcastle when the loan window opens on Friday.
